Cinnamon Banana Porridge ★★★★★1 review

Did you know cinnamon is made from the inner bark of trees? It contains antioxidants and has known anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. This warming spice gives your porridge an aromatic flavour. If you'd like to experiment try a pinch of nutmeg or clove.

Serves 1 | Prep time: 3 mins | Cooking time: 8 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 cup fortified soy milk
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tsp maple syrup

METHOD

  1. Add the oats, cinnamon, flaxseed and soy milk to a pot on a medium heat, cook until soft.
  2. Chop a ripe banana into slithers and place in a non stick fry pan. Pour the maple syrup over the top of the slithers and on a medium heat fry until golden brown and caramelized.
  3. Transfer the oatmeal to a serving bowl, place the banana on top and enjoy!

    Delicious Recipe… I will be using this recipe from now on as opposed to the pre package stuff…This is much more delicious…Thanks…
